For lovers of contemporary art the appointment in September at the Meeting Art auction house can be particularly appealing.  The experienced auction house, which has been operating in the sector since 1979, after a summer break, is proposing to the public a truly inviting September exhibition, with a particularly rich agenda and catalogue.
Meeting Art has decided to focus its attention on modern and contemporary art with an attractive menu of about 1300 lots, which will be proposed in 10 sessions spaced out throughout the whole month, from Saturday 6th to Sunday 28th September.
The catalogue is constellated with renowned names of the contemporary art firmament such as Accardi, Adami, Afro, , Baj, , , Campigli Carrà, , Cesar, , , , Fontana, , , Man Ray, Manzù, Marini, , Nigro, , , , Pistoletto, Arnaldo and Giò Pomodoro, , , Sassu, Schifano, , Tapies, , , Vedova and many more.   Next to the well-known artists, there will also be room for the young emerging promises.
To mention figures, among the auctioned works of greatest value, Emilio Vedova seems to be outrivalling the others: for his work entitled “Confine” both the estimate and the auction base price are only on request, recalling the mechanism adopted for the most precious jewels, whose astronomic price was elegantly murmured only to the people interested.  On the other hand, last May one of the famous artist’s canvases, entitled “Composizione”, had been estimated at an amount included between 120,000 and 180,000 euros, but was sold for 1,200,000 euros, an auspicious fact for who now has pieces of the artist to sell.
Another Vedova, “Senza Titolo” from 1985, mixed technique, starts from an auction base price of 100,000 euros for an estimate that fluctuates between 180,000 and 200,000 euros, being in competition with a completely different but equally estimated work: “Teatrino”, 1963  by Campigli.
Not too far from these figures, despite being more accessible, we find an acrylic by from 1989, “T 1989-E9”, proposed last weekend starting from an auction base price of 70,000 euros and with an estimated value included between 125,000 and 140,000 euros, which at the moment seems to have been left unsold.
and are both running for an estimated value between 105,000 and 120,000 euros, the former with a work from 1974, “Running Fence”,  and the latter with a canvas entitled “Temes”, typical optical exercise of the artist, dedicated to those who love to be hypnotized with an illusionistic game by observing a work of art.
A totally respectful position in the range of Meeting Art’s proposals is also held by Italian Achille and Piero Dorazio, both members of the GAS group (Social Art Group) and supporters of abstractionism in Italy: “Il rovescio della scena” , 1966, by will start from a base price of 50,000 with an estimate of 90-100,000 euros, while for the more recent abstract geometries by Piero Dorazio, year 2000, “Summa cum laude”, the base price of 25,000 euros could rise indicatively to 45-50,000 euros.
Besides the works of medium-high value, the Vercelli auction house has also kept into account more modest pockets, which will be able to afford the works of appreciated artists at more contained prices: if for and the base value is 12,000 rising to an estimate between 21,000 and 30,000 euros, it will certainly be less onerous to buy a preparatory study by Fontana or one of the 5,000 pieces of Man Ray’s famous irons with nails, “Cadeau”(1921-74),  indicatively for 1,500-2,000 euros.
