From today until 7th September, the London National Gallery is dedicating to Italian divisionists an exhibition entitled “Radical Light: Italy’s Divisionist Painters 1891–1910.” It is one of the first exhibitions to be held outside Italy that explores this artistic period, by displaying more than fifty paintings realized by the most important divisionist masters such as Giovanni Segantini and Gaetano Previati. The exhibition will also present rare paintings lent by important private and public collections in Europe and North America.

Russian collectors seems to be increasingly aware of the great market potentiality that is developing around the art of their own country. Mindful of this, they are taking part with important pieces in auctions organized by the big international houses. Exactly like Bonhams, which in London on 9th June organized a very successful auction proposing Russian works and objects of art. The 241 lots auctioned totalled 5.5 million pounds.
According to Evgenia Teslyuk, head of Russian art sales at Bonhams, this is the best time to sell high-quality works in this sector.

New York auctions have given us some exciting news. In particular, two very important new records: Francis Bacon has realized the highest price ever paid for a work of contemporary art and Lucian Freud has become the most paid living artist in the world. However, after the adrenalin stirred up by the important results, the time for questioning arrives. Who might be the mysterious buyer of the fantastic paintings sold in New York?
